GHS-Gefahrenkommunikation: Praxisleitfaden fuer Chemikalienexporteure

The Globally Harmonized System was designed to create a universal framework for chemical hazard communication. In practice each country implements its own revision of GHS, creating a patchwork of requirements that exporters must navigate carefully.

GHS Revision by Region

The EU operates under CLP Regulation aligned with GHS Revision 10. The US OSHA Hazard Communication Standard aligns with GHS Revision 3. Turkey follows EU CLP under the SEA Regulation.

Label Requirements

All GHS-compliant labels must include: product identifier, signal word, hazard statements, precautionary statements, pictograms, and supplier identification. Specific language and layout requirements vary by jurisdiction.
